Dearest God,

Your presence was a living reality tonight at our Community Peace Gathering and Prayer Vigil.  Those of us who gathered have become weary in a divided nation where daily frustration is fueled by jargon, practices and foolishness in Washington.  We remain in a state of fury, sorrow and concern but tonight, tonight, it was different,  How sweet your mercy was as we gathered in the name of peace.

One hundred gathered this evening, Father.  I think we gathered because we all heard your gentle whisper to come together, to pray, to reflect, to love, to care, to be kind, to listen and to share.  And we did, oh my goodness, we did.

Holy Father,
peace is available
when we
draw close
to you.
When we
go to the
true source
of peace,
we find it.
Open our minds,
our ears
and our hearts,
I pray.
Thank you,
Loving Father,
thank you.
