Dear God,
Where better to celebrate a life of faith with you than on Christmas Eve. Every year on
Christmas Eve I wait with anticipation for the glorious moment of your birth in me. I was not disappointed. It came in the singing when you took my chin in your hand and lifted my eyes to you. I felt it. Tears welled, peace, your peace came and I drank it in like Holy Communion.
How amazing that a school gymnasium complete with basketball nets, signs of school loyalty and an old stage could become a stable with a couple hundred people taking in their moment of recognition of Christ as Savior and Lord. Although by school regulations we could not have lighted candles, we who gathered were that light, that Light of the World light shining in the darkness.
Every year on this holy day I find you or perhaps you find me waiting.
Holy, holy, holy
are you,
Most Gracious God.
I am blessed,
so very,
very blessed.
Thank you
for Christmas Eve,
for the stable
and manger,
for Joseph
and Mary
and Jesus.
I honor you,
Loving God.
Love always, Andrea
