Dear God,
Although we were online together as a community of faith, my heart and spirit soared seeing the faces of people I love and love me back. In each one I saw the face of your son.
When we began our morning worship Lucy, our Outreach coordinator, listed several opportunities to care for our neighbors in homeless shelters, nursing homes, and health care institutions. I was so excited to get started on a couple of projects to help.
I decided to make 100 face masks for health care professionals and other at-risk people. I put out the word I needed elastic. Before I knew it two baggies of 1/4" elastic was on my porch. My high school friend in Florida told me to pick out what I needed on Amazon and she would buy it and ship it to me overnight. My youngest daughter Jill who does not sew at all found eight packages of elastic in her craft supplies. She too was excited.
I discovered hope today, Lord, and I know that hope comes from you. Ordinary people are doing extraordinary things and I can't help but believe you are leading this unprecedented time in our world. I felt hopeful and I believe you are presenting hope to others through simple acts of kindness.
Compassionate God,
there is
no god
like you.
Thank you
for blessing us
with hope.
I owe you everything
I have
and am.
Love always, Andrea
