Dear God,
Sometimes we live with the belief that we can only find you in the building called church. Without a formal worship, we sometimes feel bereft of faith, community and even hope. But, you, O Lord, created the cosmos out of nothing. In it you breathed the air of your spirit. As a gentle breeze causes the trees to dance, it is yet another sign that you are even in the dance.
Right now it is a hard time not being in our church, sharing together, praying the prayers, singing our praise, listening for the word and fellowshipping with friends. It is painful to be away from one another. And yet outside our windows the birds sing their songs. They do not know where their next meal will come from nor do they know where they will lodge when storms brew. Yet, they sing.
I have come to realize this time is fertile soil for faith, hope and mercy. We just need to look deeper, farther and higher. As we allow you to stretch us, we find you waiting, joining us in the spiritual search for signs of the divine. As we grow, we find more and more of you and less and less of our worries, anxieties and despair.
Holy God,
we are
always in
your care.
We do
not need
to fear.
You are
with us.
Forgive us
when we forget.
You are
always here.
Teach us
to grow
and grow
and grow.
Love always, Andrea
