Dear God,

This morning at 4:00 a.m. headed back to Maine inspired me to look for your light as I drove in the dark for more than three hours.  It wasn't hard to find you among Christmas lights, neon signs and business signage.  Each light drew me to your light, the divine light, the LIGHT among all light.

Truly the metaphor of light is what keeps my faith alive and well.  Each light, no matter size, shape or kind reminds me of your son who said, "I am the light of the world."  It doesn't have to be a church light or a special light of some kind to be spiritual.  Any light can inspire us to think of you.

What if the world was simply dark with no light at all?  How would we find our way to you or each other?  How would we keep safe walking, driving and other activities?  We would not; however, one tiny light, one, changes everything.  Your light changes everything every day if we just open our eyes to faith.

Holy God,
thank you
for the gift
of light.
Thank you
for the warmth,
generosity and love,
mercy and grace.
Thank you
for holy change.

Love always, Andrea
