Dear God,

Every day you remind us of small and big truths.  One truth I learned today was that faith will always conquer fear.  Amazingly, you give me regular opportunities to practice this truth. 

Today was the challenge of trusting faith to help me overcome my fear of flying.  Every time the pilot pushes the plane forward and we roar down the runway, I have to pray and give my faith a chance to conquer the fear I feel.  When rising in the air, I felt that crazy trepidation; yet, at the same time it propelled me to pray, to take your hand and to breathe in trust.  

While I don't like the spiritual challenges you provide, I am grateful to practice the gifts you give to help strengthen and encourage.  It is true I was grateful to touch down at my destination but I always whispered my prayers of thanksgiving for giving faith and trust a real chance.

Almighty and Loving God,

thank you

for every

generous gift.

Thank you

for helping me

rise to

the occasion

of faith.

Thank you

for helping me

overcome my fear

one more time.
