Dear God,

There is beautiful, then there is beautiful.  When I drive through the mountains of Pennsylvania and look out over the hills and valleys, I see beautiful scenery.  But when I gaze upon them through the eyes of faith, I see creation, majesty and exquisite artistry.  I am prompted to pray, sing and give thanks.

Too much of my life I have looked only with my eyes, not my soul.  What I have seen may have been beautiful but I missed the "much more" that you offer.  So strange how we rob ourselves of the deeper dimensions of life.  We grab for the quick and easy, the shallow and what's at hand, the visible and shiny.

But when our mind and spirit are quickened, so much more opens up to us.  We see what we could not see.  We hear what we could not hear.  We touch what we could not touch.  Suddenly, we enter into an amazing world filled with wonder and awe.  Why would we reach for beautiful when we can have BEAUTIFUL?

Holy God,
thank you
for giving gifts
that wow
and amaze us.
Thank you
for nudging us.
Thank you
for granting us
the ability
to see,
touch, taste
and hear more.

Love, Andrea
