Dear God,

What happens when we pray?  Are you moved by our sincerity and then answer our prayer or something else?  Is prayer ultimately for others or are we changed as we pray?  Is one prayer enough to make a change or is there some magic number that issues a change?  What happens when we pray?

We have asked these faith questions for a long time; however, we do not stop praying because we are not clear what happens.  We continue to pray for loved ones but also for strangers who facing natural disasters, wars, injustice, loss and political pain.  We want our prayers to make a difference, to ease pain and suffering and to rally people facing difficulty.  We want to be partners in the healing of others.  We want to see some sign of your hand at work.  

What happens when we pray, O Lord?

for touching

our hearts

and giving us love

for others

in trouble.

for blessing

all your people.
