Dear God,

How do hearts converge, even hearts that do not know one another?  Is there an open heart or a divine invitation?

I remember the first time I joined in morning prayer at the Carmelite Monastery in Indianapolis.  I had only heard of the Catholic sisters, but someone suggested we gather with them.  That first moment when I stepped inside, quieted myself and closed my eyes, I knew something was happening to me.  I couldn't explain it but I knew my heart was being pulled.

For 18 years every Wednesday we worshipped, prayed, and silenced ourselves together.  Our hearts did converge on day one but also day two and three and every day after.  Before I knew it our hearts beat as one.  We "knew" God at the same time because our hearts searched at the same time, loved at the same time and blessed at the same time.  Our convergence brought us closer to you and one another.  I loved them that first day and today 35 years later my heart still beats with theirs.

O God,
what gifts
you give us.
You bless us
beyond our comprehension.
Thank you
for melding
our hearts together.
Bless them,
dear God,
bless them today
and always.

Love, Andrea
