Dear God,
Does spreading good will make a difference? Does standing in the middle of the woods singing a love song change anything? Does offering signs of peace inspire?
I haven't researched Google for answers. What I do know it makes a difference in me. It makes me want to do more, say more, sing more. When I touch a tree and thank her for her beauty, I believe we are helping each other. When I sing back to the birds, I believe they know it. When I am careful and reverent with all earthly creatures, I am saying I care about you.
The opposite is also true. When I am ugly, mean-spirited or shout words of hatred, I spoil the air around me. When I rundown someone or something, I am doing the same to myself. I have the ability to tear down or build up. Daily I have many choices to make whether I will carry this reality with me and function well or not. I get the choice.
Holy God,
thank you
for making
a better me
when I operate
from goodness
rather than ugliness.
I want
to give Earth
and all
her creatures
the best
of me,
not the worst.
Help me make
the world
a beautiful place
for all.
Yours, Andrea
