Dearest God,

Yesterday morning as I showered, I thought of the gift of water.  Its cleansing and warming power, its taste and ability to quench thirst, its goodness, and peaceful qualities daily touch my life. That was when I thought of the countless millions of people who do not have access to clean water.

Although I enjoy the great benefits of clean water, I felt sadness for those who need it so much.  I wondered what to do to help, to make a way to alleviate the trials and deadliness of no water or dirty water filled with disease and other life-threatening risks.

Sometimes I take life for granted.  I forget that I am part of the ten per cent who has a home, heat, food, water, and all the basic necessities.  I forget my neighbor in Africa who has none of these.  I am sorry.

Help me find ways to help others reminding me that the others are family.

Make me compassionate,
full of love
for my neighbor.
Show me
the way
to help,
I pray.

Love, Andrea
