Dearest God,
Your spirit wind blew through our church this morning. We could feel the tentacles of faith touching each one of us. We knew your visitation. We submitted ourselves to your warmth and grace. What else could we do?
You revealed your love to our church as we gathered and sang nearly at the top of our lungs. We love singing there. We sense your living and loving presence and we want to lift our voices so the angels and saints can hear us in heaven.
You gave me an opportunity to share your message through the spoken word, music, drama, and video. As I told the people what you gave me to say, we all sensed our time together as a Holy Spirit event. You matter to God, I kept saying, you matter to God. Imagine a world if we followed the One who told us we mattered to God, I said. After the service one woman told me she had an alcoholic friend and she never knows what to say to her. Today she planned to visit and tell her she mattered to God. How glorious, O God, that you words inspire and challenge the human mind, soul, and heart.
As we hungered for your word, we listened and found it in the worship service as we prayed, sang, listened, greeted one another, and offered your holy love to one another. Surely the presence of the Lord was in our place!
Glorious God,
thank you
for the gift
of your
Holy Spirit.
Thank you
for the livingness
of faith
that gives life
to all
who hunger
for it.
Thank you
for unearned love
and spectacular beauty
that we experience
when we
spend quality time
with you.
Love always and forever, Andrea
