Dear God,
Are the forgotten truly forgotten? All those persons tossed aside, eliminated from the heart and mind, and pushed away for whatever reason, are they forgotten forever?
For some reason the "forgotten" comes into my prayers. Frequently you bring them to me for prayer. Why, I am not sure. However, there is something inside me that tells me it is a terrible thing to be forgotten. Although they have no names when they come to me, still I feel blessed to pray for them with the name Forgotten.
You do not forget anyone, do you Lord? All the forgotten ones have names to you. You know them. They are yours. You love them. In divine ways you speak to them giving them value, hope, and blessing. No one is away from your care, I am sure of it.
When one of us Hughes cousins used to ask my grandmother who she loved the best, she always said, "I love you all the same!" A line from your own heart.
Merciful God,
let no one
feel forgotten.
Help all
your children
experience your blessing.
Let even
the vilest offender
know of
your love.
Circle us
'round you,
O Lord,
that we
may learn
to love
one another,
therefore,
confounding forgottenness forever.
Love, Andrea
