Dearest God,

The wonders of your healing power mystify the human soul.  Doctors, nurses, medicine, and therapies all do their part but none can compare to the work of the Great Physician.

Although my husband is weak and is facing the demon side effects of pain medicine following open heart surgery, still I know his sternum is quietly knitting itself together.  His wounds are healing.  His body is repairing itself.  Your gentle hand is upon him.  I know it like I know the air I am breathing.

Faith allows us to experience the deeper places in life.  Faith redirects our attention from what is not to what is and what will be. Faith shows us the power of the Almighty.  Faith gives us peace particularly when we are struggling.  Faith gives me courage and hope to offer my husband who sometimes falls prey to the empty cup syndrome.  Faith leads us home to the Divine Healer whose loving care surpasses every earthly gift.

living presence
that constantly
reminds us
we are in
your hands.
Hold us,
Lord,
cradle us
in your arms,
I pray.
