My dearest God,

Every day we have to choose whether we will trust you or not.  We have to decide whether to live in faith or not.  We have to determine whether or not we will live out our relationship with and to you.  Every day we awaken to choices.

Life issues present us with opportunities for dialogue with you.  When we watch human struggle, we search for ways to help, heal, and hold on to those we love.  The best choice is always to stay near to you in intentional kinds of ways because there we find solace and assistance.

Today I had to bathe in your mercy because I was just so weary.  I had a difficult time convincing my ailing husband that he was indeed getting better day by day.  So I had to trust for us both.  I had to wade deep in the waters of faith just to get by.  I had to rely on our relationship, yours and mine, to get me through the day.  I was not disappointed.

Healing Comforter,
Gracious Teacher,
Loving Friend,
thank you
for faith
that is
ever deeper
than our troubles.

Love, Andrea
