Dear God,

Your power is greater than ours, O Lord; yet, we use our power to diminish yours.  We use our will to make decisions, thereby, discounting your will for us.  We move forward knowing your will and your power are better.  Why do we do that?

We really are self-centered creatures.  We operate as if we are king or queen of our world.  We forget how we cannot live without others, how our lives have little meaning and value without your greater purpose.  We choose our will, our way to do what we want.

We can live our whole lives that way.  We can go throughout life without any awareness or sense of your living presence.  We can ignore what we see, smell, taste, hear, and touch.  We can claim full credit for all we do.  And often we do, but why?

Holy Spirit God,
thank you
for the invitation
to walk
beside you.
Thank you
for high moments
where you
show us
your majesty,
your power,
and your grace.
Thank you
for low moments
that can
teach us
to rise up.
Today was
a low moment.

Love, Andrea
