Dear God,
More often than not we live our lives at ground level. We are content with what our senses tell us. Like busy ants we work, live, and play on this level never really desiring to explore what may be found above or below us. We miss so much.
It seems you are always nudging us to dig deeper or rise higher. When we dig down, we discover nutrients we never knew existed. We learn the secrets of tall, fully-formed trees. We know nearly everything they need is below ground. When we tap into the deep for ourselves and eat of the rich, spiritual food, we find the ingredients to growth, joy, and wisdom.
On the other hand when we rise up, when we let go of what keeps us grounded, we can lift off, beginning to see the beauty from above. We can learn to soar, to fly, to breathe clean air, to touch the clouds, and feel the spirit wind. We gain new perspective, for how can we ever see life the same again?
Every new dawn brings multiple options for living this life. We can rise, we can dig, or we can just walk the familiar landscape.
Blessed God,
thank you
for the gift
of this
new dawn.
Thank you
for morning insights,
for sunshiny days,
and living water
to quench
our thirst.
Thank you
for the gift
of our relationship.
Love, Andrea
