Dear God,
No one really comes looking for us when we are lost. They walk by us, see us, but really don't do anything to help us find our way back home. We can wander a long, long time before someone notices we are really missing.
When we walk away from our spiritual home, when we say goodbye to faith, or we toss away our loyalty, promises, and commitment to journey with you, you notice. Not only do you notice, you take action. You call our name. You invite us to chat. You promise to go with us wherever we go. You sing to us. You cradle us. You love us.
In the face of so much love and grace, eventually we return to find you there, our space still open, and a welcome awaiting us. Who would want to be gone for long?
Thank you
for noticing us,
O Lord,
Thank you
for going away
with us.
Thank you
for the invitation
to return.
Thank you
for home.
Love, Andrea
