Dear God,

Every Wednesday morning we gather at your feet for one hour.  We have no idea what you will say or where you will lead.  We just know we sit with your presence anticipating the movement of your spirit.

We talk by phone, one from central Indiana, another from northeast Indiana, one from Illinois, and me from Maine.  We find our "sacred" space and then dial in to a conference call.  There we wait until all are accounted for.  Then one of us leads us in devotion, a time of silence, and then prayer.  Another of us is up to share while the other three listen as your spirit leads us to insights, knowledge, questions, reflection, and challenge.  At the conclusion, the leader prays and we wish one another goodbye.  In between times we pray daily for one another until the next Wednesday or we are on retreat together.

All this is your doing, Lord.  You gathered us together, pastors seeking to follow the pilgrim way.  Knowing we are not wise bible scholars, great orators, or sought-out philosophers, we desire to follow the call you gave to each of us.  We want to be faithful, to love and serve.

The trust that has built over time amazes us.  It overwhelms us to count the blessings that have come.  The miracles, the healings, and the grace have brought us to our knees time and time again.  Although we believe there is gift in being made in your image, we know we have done nothing spectacular to earn your gifts.  You have simply given them and our hearts overflow with gratitude.

Thank you
for Wednesdays,
O Lord.
Thank you
for our
covenant group.
Thank you
for our call
to ministry
and our call
to gather together.
We are blessed
and oh,
so very grateful.

Love, Andrea
