Dear God,
Suffering...suffering forces us to live in the deep. There we find dark despair but our uncomfortableness pushes us to look deeper still. In that moment the ground gives way to something else that looks like the light.
I remember the time when I felt I was in a very deep well. It was so small that I felt tight, trapped, unable to move. So there I lay praying, resigned to my condition but open to something more. It was then, only then did I feel the ground shift, cracking open my black tomb giving way to movement. The light shone through until I fell downward into the light of your love. Suffering almost always moves us closer to you.
Holy God,
thank you
for the power
of your love
that can
move mountains
or deep,
dark tombs.
Thank you
for love
that is
ever present.
Thank you
for blessing us.
Love, Andrea
