Dearest God,

There are those who hear your call to serve and actually do it.  Praise be to God!

This morning in worship we heard that 1200 volunteers said yes to help 200 immigrants bussed to our state.  More than $400,000 was raised.  These are those with gentle spirits with hearts that beat to the mercy of our God.

There is within us the capacity for compassion and love even for strangers.  You make us all this way, O Lord.  You call us to care for each other.  Your love makes it possible to stretch our love wide and deep.

for blessing
that comes
when we
say yes.

who care deeply.
