Dearest God,
You stand by our side in joy and sadness. You minister to us so we know we are not alone. You help us rise to health and wholeness, gladness and peace and wisdom and hope. You are God of our joys and God of our sorrows.
I look to the pain in our nation and world and I want to scream. I want justice for all. I want peace for all. I want hope for all. I want love and acceptance for all. I want help for all. Yet, when I really look at what is happening. I see justice for some. Peace, hope, love and acceptance and help for some. What is wrong with us? Those who need these the most are the most vulnerable in our societies.
We have lost our moral center. We have lost our courage. We have lost our compassion. We have lost our way. We have lost our hospitality, care and desire to serve. We have lost our direction. We have lost ourselves.
Almighty God,
All Compassionate One,
call for us.
Invite us in,
sinners as
we are.
Teach us
a better way.
Challenge and
change us,
I pray.
Thank you
for loving us anyway.
Forever yours, Andrea
