Dear God,

Now is the time to draw near to you, O Lord, to let you take our hand in yours and to walk the path of life with you.  Now is not the time to walk away and give in to our inner nature, whatever that may look like.  Now is the time to draw direction, courage and strength from you.

You are calling us to change, to transformation.  Our nation has turned ugly, divided as it is.  We are letting our anger, bitterness and resentment boil over onto others.  In our desire to refute the evil around us, we often fall prey to evil ourselves.  O Lord, we do not want to become what we hate but we cannot do it on our own.  We must be like a little child who looks for our loving parent to help us in our distress.

Help us become

like little children again,

Merciful God.

Your son said,

"Let the

little children

come unto me."

We are

those children

about whom

he spoke.

Help us return

to you.
