Dear God,
During my devotions the word "fog" came to me. Fog covers over or covers up. It blurs everything, sometimes blotting out everything. But eventually, the fog "lifts," another interesting word.
In the spiritual life fog comes to give us time to wait, be patient, to pray, to listen and to learn. When it is foggy we have to rely more on you, trust you more and ask for your leading. This is a particularly close time with you like a child snuggled in a parent's arms. It is a time when you whisper to us, "This is our time."
I believe the fog is necessary because it slows us down, makes us look and listen and gives us opportunity for pausing, reflecting and living in your presence. There is always much to learn while in your arms.
Thank you,
Loving God,
for holy fog.
Thank you
for special times
with you.
Thank you
for chances
to lift up,
listen and learn.
Love, Andrea
