Dear God,

Seventy five, I can hardly believe I am 75 years old.  I remember my mother at 75, just a year before she died of heart problems.  I can remember my grandmother at 75 with hardening of the arteries.  I recall my great grandmother at the same age crippled up with memory problems.  How quickly I turned 75.

Three quarters of a century, I am three quarters of a century.  However, I still climb ladders to clean chandeliers, home can over 500 jars of food a season, mop floors on my knees, clean, clear, dig and plant a spiritual path I have worked on for over a decade and carry 40 lb. bags of salt.  You have made me strong although I have ongoing health issues.

What you have done most in me is make me grateful.  You have given me the spirit of gratitude.  You have shown me how vital it is to live a life of thanksgiving.  I am blessed.  You awaken me early every morning when it is still dark.  Even before rising I thank you for the day ahead.  Gratitude has kept me healthy and happy because when I am counting blessings, I am not whining about what I do not have.  Gratitude keeps me looking around at all the gifts of your spirit like faith, family, sunrises and sunsets, smiles, love and so much more.

Thank you
for the gift
of 75 years,
O God.
You have
blessed me
for 75 years.
All of life
has not
been perfect;
however, your love
for me
has been.
Thank you,
Loving God,
thank you.

Love, Andrea
