Dear God,

What is hope but a deep, solid trust in you?  Hope does not ensure a positive answer to our prayer; it simply means I am hanging onto you in the midst of life.

Hope is never gone when we remain close to your side, Merciful God.  When we more intentionally enter your presence, we can breathe and know we are held during our trying time.  You calm our fears, breathe into us your peace and inspire us to wait, trust and believe.  

I have a troubled spot in my soul right now and I need to trust you in it.  Please help me, Gracious, Loving God.

to you first
