Dear God,

I am rereading One Thousand Gifts by Ann Voskamp.  This morning she wrote about an experience with a soap bubble that formed in her sink while washing dishes.  That sparked a memory I shall never forget.

You and I created a contemplative garden just outside the study window of our home.  The landscaper and I had worked together to create a sacred space for prayer, meditation and hope.  When we were finished, I held an Open Garden complete with a ritual of singing, prayer, silence, sharing and walking.  Because the atmospheric pressure was strange that day, the bubbles we blew symbolizing your spirit did not form and burst.  Instead they rose up and then fell on the garden flowers, trees and bushes.  Hundreds of bubbles lay there quietly.  It was an amazing sight to behold!  Your spirit everywhere in our new spirit-filled garden!  I prayed while they held until the clouds separated and the rain poured down upon us.  What a day!  What an experience.

What amazes me most is how a simple story about a bubble could bring such sweet memories to mind, memories of your spirit always present.

Blessed are you,
Gracious and Loving God.
Thank you
for that
holy day
years ago.
Thank you
for all
who came
to celebrate
and dance
in the rain.
Thank you
for your
constant spirit
and love.

Yours, Andrea
