Dear God,

I am actually writing this on May 30 because on May 27 I was diagnosed with Covid-19.  In the morning I was dressed and ready for my early morning walk.  Within a couple of hours I could hardly walk upstairs to my bed.  I felt absolutely dreadful.  I climbed into bed and got worse.  I tested and discovered I had the disease so many people around the world have contracted although I have been vaccinated and boostered.

Throughout the day I slept, took meds, drank water and trusted you.  I was not afraid.  I rested in your care and prayed for suffering people all over the world dealing with war, poverty, violence, hunger and loss.  Seemed like a good thing to do.

O God,
teach us
in our suffering
to pray
for suffering people.
Redirect our focus
to others
when we
only want
to think
of ourselves.
Show us
the way
to mercy
and compassion.

Love, Andrea
