Dear God,
How will we ever uncover the truth? Truth eludes us when people choose to draw their own narrative. Suddenly truth becomes muddy and messy. We want desperately to find it because we are a people of integrity, morality and faith. We want to trust that any form of truth is the real truth.
But how do we find it, O Lord? How do we know for sure the truth being told to us is the honest-to-God real truth? As people of faith, we take our lead from you. We fall to our knees before you in prayer asking for help and guidance. We ask you to be our truth today and every day.
But the versions of truth are constantly nipping at our heels. One says this. Another says that. If we belong to you and seek you first, we want only to hear your voice, to know your truth.
Help us,
O God.
We are fragile
and vulnerable
human beings.
We can't
always distinguish
what is truthful
and what
is not.
We want only
your truth.
Guide us,
Merciful God,
we pray.
Love, Andrea
