Dear God,

There is something so very haunting and beautiful about Autumn.  It gives us so many messages.  It invites us to show our colors of faith and love and kindness.  It challenges us to reflect upon surrender, a true letting go.  It also reminds us of death and dying.  But it is also a time of transition and preparation.

Like squirrels and chipmunks, we need to look for our food for the upcoming winter.  We need to make space for all we will need.  We need spiritual and emotional food, living water and heavenly shelter.  We need to breathe in the air of expectation, the breath of life and the hope that a new season brings.  We need to get ready.

Although we still have time, the trees have not yet given up all their leaves, the temperatures have not yet dropped dramatically and the winter has not yet creeped in but they all will.  Will we be ready?

Holy God,
thank you
for the
prized time
of Autumn
and all
it shares
with us.
Thank you
for this
holy time.
Make us ready,
ready for you.

Yours, Andrea
