Dear God,

Some people we carry in our hearts forever.  Grandma Hughes is one of them.  Although she died nearly 40 years ago I can still see her standing on the front porch waving goodbye after one of those very special down-on-the-farm Sunday family dinners. I loved her then and I love her now.

The Carmelites who allowed us Protestant pastors to meet in their divine space for our covenant group time and then invited us to worship with them during Morning Prayer are also deeply embedded in my heart.  Many days they appear before and inside me.  Like my grandmother they taught me so much about faith and love and hope.

You, O God, brought these loved ones into my life and you made space inside me where they can reside always.  I will forever be grateful.

These are not
the only ones
to dwell
within me.
You dwell
there too.
You made space
for you too.
How blessed
I am
to carry all
of you.

Yours, Andrea
