Dear God,

COURAGE.  COURAGE.  COURAGE.  Lately I have been thinking about courage, what it means, how it works and what it offers.  I ask myself if I am a courageous woman.

In today's chaotic world, it seems to me you are asking us to be courageous.  You ask us to consider what we are willing to do for others, for the downtrodden, the forgotten and the kicked around.  What we are willing to do to help renew, restore and refurbish people, beliefs, ideas and the Earth.  If we are not about the business of helping, what are we doing?

It was when I was 50 years old that I discovered courage.  When I was diagnosed with breast cancer, I was terrified, but you whispered to me, you held me up and you gave me courage to face my fear.  Since that time, I have taken tiny steps of courage.  What I realized is that courage is tied to faith.  I can be courageous when I know I am trusting you to assist me in my decisions, when I will speak truth in a loving manner and when I will step into the fray to offer courage as a way to strengthen us all.  I can be more and do more when I am courageous, when we all are, we can move mountains.

Almighty God,
clear my mind,
my soul
and my heart
of all
that hinders me
from being courage.
Then help me
take that courage
to help others.
Help me stand
when I need
to stand.
Help me speak
when I need
to speak.
Help me do
when I need
to do.

Love, Andrea
