Dear God,

We can lose our confidence and question ourselves.  Even when we do the same thing over and over again, refining our skills, we can still fall prey to self doubt and fear.

This morning the preacher did an outstanding job preaching the Word; however, the night before he expressed anxiety and fear.  Could he do it?  It had been a long while since he last preached.  When he bared his soul, I laid my hands on his shoulders and prayed.

We forget we have your power to fulfill your calling.  We forget to call on your name and trust you are great enough to assist us.  We forget we do what we do because you asked us to do it. 

When we come to you with our concerns and worries, you want to lift us up, give us courage and strength, and inspire us to stand and do.  When we actually trust you and do it, we see how your spirit is at work within us.  We never have to worry again.

Holy Spirit God,
thank you
for the movement
of your spirit.
Thank you
for your power
and enabling us
to do
your will.
Forgive us
when we falter.
