Dear God,
When we enter into your silence, we step into a world where anything is possible. We walk wide corridors where peace plays with hope. The light shines and the warmth of love permeates every human cell. There, our quietness and longing meet the creator of the cosmos.
Rarely do we ever pause long enough to meet you. Our encounters are brief because we bring so much luggage to our meeting. Our long list of to do's, our worries and fears, and our likings and dislikings obstruct us from full view. We want to be close to you but we limit how much time we can spend. It's like pray and run.
But oh, the sweetness when we walk the halls in search of our beloved, when we witness pictures of grace in the lives of those closest to our God, when we drink from the well of living water, when we count the blessings, and when we finally fall to our knees in praise, ah, yes, the joy that comes to welcome us overwhelms us in gratitude.
Patient and Loving God,
thank you
for the invitation
to draw close.
Thank you
for holy encounters
that leave us breathless.
Thank you
for heaven's peace
that stills
the body,
mind, and spirit.
Love, Andrea
