Dear God,

For one hour each Wednesday morning our covenant group listens for your voice.  We grow silent intentionally so we can hear your still small voice.  We are never disappointed.

For one hour on Wednesday we are highly attentive to your spirit.  But what happens an hour later?  Do we adjust our hearts, minds, and spirits so we can be on alert all day long every day?  When I read the writings of Teresa of Lisieux, Teresa of Avila, and Francis of Assisi, I hear in their voices the desire to be with God every moment in every task.  I want to be like them.

Holy God,
hold my feet
to your
Holy Spirit fire.
Make me
for you.
Take my eyes,
my ears,
my touch,
all my senses
and make
them ready
to receive
your spirit,
I pray.
