Dear God,

Waiting...waiting...waiting, how important is waiting.  So much do we need to wait, O Lord, for waiting gives us time to think and reflect, to trust and depend and to listen in the silence for your voice to rise above all other voices.

Twenty years ago I waited to hear if I had breast cancer.  When I discovered I had the dreaded disease, I had to wait for surgery.  When I had the surgery, I had to wait to heal and recover.  One of the many lessons I learned is this:  Waiting draws us closer to you, grows faith and gives us new eyes for seeing you.

In this waiting time for Christmas, I am bathing in the wondrous mysteries of your love, hope, and peace.

Everlasting God,
how beautiful
it is
to sit
with you
in the
waiting room.
Thank you
for your
living presence.
Thank you
for the
vast number
of gifts
that come
while waiting.
I love you
so much.

Forever yours, Andrea
