Dear God,
Right now, it is so quiet, it feels as if the earth is taking a break from all her work. Instead of producing, she is breathing, hoping, even praying. I like it; I really do.
Being silent, letting go of words is a challenge, yet one that pays off in beauty and peace. Making a clearing for you, Most Holy God, allows us to breathe, pray and hope ourselves. We need it so much, desperately so. But we use words to avoid silence, often because we are afraid what silence will bring. When we call upon your name and ask for trust to let go of our words for a time, we can enter silence as reverently as stepping to the altar in worship. We can find a friend in silence because silence can lead us to you.
Like the song,
lead me, Lord,
lead me
in thy righteousness,
make thy
way plain
before thy face.
For it
is Thou, Lord,
Thou, Lord, only
that makest
me dwell
in safety.
Thank you.
Yours, Andrea
